Everyone loves a good food experience when travelling. One of the best ways to find out more about a local cuisine is to take a food tour. An experienced guide will tell you about some of the city history and more importantly about the food all around you.

Catavino:
This is a 3.5 hour walking tour which includes the Bolhão Market, pastries, a coffee house, pork sandwiches, eclairs and cheese and sausages.
Tours are offered 10:30 (Tues – Sat) or 16:00 (Tues – Fri)
Cost: €55 per person
Taste Porto:
This tour is also 3.5 hours and visits 6 different tasting locations including pastries, coffee, a market, and a taverna. On the tour you taste 10 different foods and sample 6 different beverages.
Tours are offered Tuesday to Saturday, excluding holidays at 10h30 and 16h00
Cost: €59 Adults, €40 Children under 13 years
We hate tourism tours
For a more irreverent style you can try “We hate tourism tours” (WHTT). Their “Dinner with us or starve” tour takes you to a non-touristy local restaurant where you can try great local food, wine and atmosphere. After dinner there is a night walk and a digestive liqueur.
The tours are offered on Wednesdays & Fridays starting at 7:30pm and lasting 4-5 hours.
Cost: €35 per person
Porto Food and Wine Tasting Tour:
A 4 hour tour that visits cafes and markets. Highlights include a coffee bar, Bolhão Market, cod fishcakes, Francesinha sandwich – local ham & cheese croque monsieur, and samosa pastries
Tours are offered on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays
Cost: €40 for Adults and €20 for children under 12
Oporto Shore Tours
Oporto Shore Tours offer a number of luxury private tours from a general Porto food tour to a lunch at a Michelin starred restaurant with a personalised wine tasting.
Tours are available with flexible timetables
Prices vary per tour but start at about €150 per person. They do include hotel pick up, and most other associated costs
Small Group Porto Food and Wine Tour
The small group tours are a 3.5 hour morning walk around the Miragaia neighbourhood. Tastings include coffee, a Portuguese custard tart, ‘Franceshina’ sandwich, cherry liquor, Port and more!
Tours are available: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Cost: €49 for Adults and €39 for children under 12
